Podcasting Guide

What is podcasting?

Podcasting is a term given to automatically downloading and playing audio-video files on your computer or on a portable media player (such as an iPod). If you subscribe to a podcast series (such as the MCH/CSHCN Director webcasts), your computer will automatically download the latest podcast when it is archived. You can then play the podcast on your computer or portable media player.

How do I listen to this podcast?

To listen to any individual podcast, just click on the webcast archive page where it says "Click here for MP3 audio only." The podcast will download to your computer. You will need software to play MP3 files, a sound card and speakers/headphones in order to listen.

How do I subscribe to this podcast?

Subscribe to the podcast series in order to receive all new titles as they are archived.

  1. First install “podcatching” software on your computer. We don't endorse software applications, but some popular free choices are:

    iPodder® (PC, Mac and Linux)

    iPodderX® (Mac)

    iTunes® (PC and Mac)

  2. Copy the URL below the Podcast logo on the Archives page into your podcatching software. Your computer will automatically download the latest podcast when it is archived. Open your podcatching software to listen to the podcast or transfer it to your portable media player. There is no charge to subscribe.
