Technical Help : Java and JavaScript

To participate in the webcasts you will need to enable both Java and JavaScript in your browser's preferences. Below are the directions for doing so in Internet Explorer and in Netscape Navigator.

Internet Explorer:

Enabling JavaScript:

  • On the browser toolbar, select Tools > Internet Options
  • In the Internet Options box, select the Security tab
  • Click on the Internet icon at the top of the dialog box
  • Click on the Custom Level button at the bottom of the dialog box
  • Using the scroll bar on the the right edge of Security Settings window, scroll all the way down to the Scripting section
  • Under the heading Active Scripting, select Enable
  • In the same dialog box, scroll down to the heading Scripting of Java Applets and select Enable
  • Click the OK button to close the Security Settings dialog box
  • Click the OK button to close the Internet Options dialog box

Enabling Java:

  • On the Toolbar, select Tools > Internet Options
  • In the Internet Options box, select the Security tab
  • Click on the Internet icon at the top of the dialog box
  • Click on the Custom Level button at the bottom of the dialog box
  • Using the scroll bar on the the right edge of Security Settings window to scroll down to the Microsoft VM heading
  • Select Medium Safety
  • Click the OK button to close the Security Settings dialog box
  • Click the OK button to close the Internet Options dialog box

Netscape:

Enabling JavaScript:

  • On the browser toolbar, select Edit > Preferences
  • Click on the word Advanced in the menu
  • Click the Enable Javascript
  • Click the OK button to close the Preferences dialog box

    Enabling Java:

  • On the browser toolbar, select Edit > Preferences
  • Click on the word Advanced in the menu
  • Click the Enable Java
  • Click the OK button to close the Preferences dialog box
