Professor Richard Wilkinson is a Professorial Research Fellow in Social Epidemiology at the Trafford Centre for Post-graduate Medical Education and Research of the University of Sussex in Great Britain. He is also the Associate Director of the International Centre for Health and Society of the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at University College in London. Professor Wilkinson’s work, which focuses on the impact of income inequity on the health of societies, is known and respected throughout the world. He is the author of a number of books and articles, including the book Unhealthy Societies: The Afflictions of Inequality.
