Ninth Annual Maternal and Child Health Epidemiology Conference / December 10-12, 2003
TISHIA SMITH: I just want to take a moment to again thank our presenters, Dr. Saunders, Dr. Grosse, and Dr. Kirby for a very insightful and educational closing plenary of the 9th Annual Maternal and Child Health Epidemiology Conference.
I know it’s been a personal pleasure and a learning experience for myself, and I’m sure for many of you as well.
Also, I’d like to make a note that as each of us, over the course of the last two and a half days, have received a lot of information, I charge each of you to go back to your respective states with enthusiasm and passion for the work that you do, and the lives that you impact, because I truly believe that through the interchange of best practices with the commitment to advance the field and to move the field forward, we can really have, as MCH professionals, an impact on the lives of women, children, and families, and would again, just like to thank everyone for joining us this morning. You stuck it out. I would like to give a special thanks to the Atlanta MCH EPI staff, I know a few of you are still here. Ms Shona Ward was unable to be at the conference this year, but Ms. Gebra Cuyun, and Dr. William Sappenfield as well as others within the applied sciences branch and the Division of Reproductive Health. I would like to ask all of you if we could just give the an applause. Again, thank you, everyone, for joining us this morning, enjoy your afternoon in Tempe, and we will see you next year in Atlanta!
BILL SAPPENFIELD: Before we quit, I want to at least say that this is Tish’s first year to be the coordinator for the conference and as the team leader for this. I hope this is, from my perspective, the first of many successful conferences that Tishia leaves us with, please give Tish a round of applause.
